Horrie farm house is located in the heart of Orkney East Mainland. The property is 6 miles from Kirkwall and is ideally located for enjoying a range of outdoor activities like walking, cycling, bird watching and beach activities.
There is an excellent Pub/Restaurant within walking distance and a local shop nearby.
The house has been refurbished to provide two completely separate apartments, each with a private entrance. The lower apartment sleeps 4 and the upper apartment sleeps 5 or both can be booked to accommodate larger parties or family groups.
Each non-smoking apartment enjoys varied views in all directions. Hen harriers, short-eared owls, curlews, lapwing, snipe and oystercatcher all feed in the fields surrounding the house. Brown hares and rabbits of various hues graze alongside the cattle.
You will enjoy a warm, very spacious farmhouse, surrounded by the owners farmland, which supports an abundance of wildlife.
We are members of the RSPB and operate a no shooting policy on our farm.
You are welcome to have new laid eggs from our free-range hens and ducks when available.
