Orkney Holiday Lets at Horrie Farm
The Scottish Government has decided to shutdown accommodation providers as well as restricting access to the ferries, only allowing people that stay in the islands to travel(as part of their business only). It is with great regret that we are not taking further bookings and we are in the process of informing families of the cancellation of existing bookings. Nicola Sturgeons statement can be found here

Horrie Farm House is located in the heart of Orkney East Mainland. The property is a 15 minute drive from Kirkwall and within easy access of the Airport and Ferries to the North Isles and Scottish Mainland. The property is ideal for families or groups of friends who enjoy outdoor activities like walking, cycling, birdwatching and beach based activities. The lovely sandy beach of Dingieshowe is close by.
The House is divided into two completely separate apartments, each with private entrance. The spacious lower apartment, has a walk in shower and a ramp up to the front door, it sleeps 4. The upper apartment sleeps 5 and has panoramic views over the diverse farmland and out to the North Isles.
We fully support Green Energy, so much of the electricity is produced by our own wind turbines. The apartments are warm and spacious and situated well away from the main road so no sound of traffic. There is ample off road free parking and you can park very close to front door.
The farm is managed with wildlife and bio diversity in mind. For many years we have participated in environmental management schemes on the farm. This has led to our visitors seeing many hen harriers and seed eating birds such as twite and linnet. The addition of phacelia and borage to the bird crop mix has resulted in more bumble bees to be seen.
As well as hen harriers and skylarks, short-eared owls, curlews, lapwing, snipe and oystercatcher all feed in the fields surrounding the house. Brown hares graze alongside the cattle and sheep.
We are members of the RSPB and operate a no shooting policy on our farm. If you enjoy seeing greylag geese, there are plenty all year round.
To welcome you we provide new laid eggs, fresh flowers, milk and a tea tray with Orkney biscuits.
Our guests really enjoy the new laid eggs from our free-range hens where they can be viewed from the kitchen window.
